The Washington Association of Colleges for Teacher Education provides leadership on issues related to professional education, with primary focus on teacher education. WACTE promotes effective public policy regarding professional education, enhances and improves professional education programs at member institutions, and enhances the professional effectiveness of members.

2011 & 2012 WACTE Conferences

January 18-19, 2012 Conference will be at St. Martin's University. RESCHEDULED FOR FEBRUARY 9, 2012 at City University in Renton. Registration and Agenda are available under MEETINGS.

April 23 - 24, 2012 Conference will be at Washington State University.

WACTE/OACTE Explore "Creating a Shared Future"  

The American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education has awarded a grant to the Washington and Oregon state chapters to strengthen our mutual impact in the Pacific Northwest. During the 2011/12 academic year, the two chapters will identify effective policy and professional development models that support evidence-based teacher education. It is expected that the year-long collaboration will accelerate each state's efforts to improve pre- and in-service education.
